This week Pastor Laitinen and Pastor Zarling were with over 2200 teens at the WELS International Youth Rally at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. The theme of the rally was Here and Now. We interviewed 14 of the youth and 2 of the chaperones from the Water of Life youth group who attended the rally. We discussed the worship services, workshops, concerts, the Hub, the food, fun, fellowship, inflatables, tortilla slapping, highs and lows, and more. The teens were insightful and introspective with their commentary.
These teens – like so many at the rally – are not the future of the WELS. They are the Here and Now.
