Screwtape Letters 2.jpg

We start a new book for the Lutheran Book Club on Wednesday, January 23 at 7:30 pm in the Epiphany Parish House. Each household that would like to participate will purchase the book that we will be discussing. The next book we are reading is “The Screwtape Letters” by C.S. Lewis.

The Screwtape Letters is written from the perspective of a senior devil who is advising his young nephew demon about how to tempt human beings. While the correspondence is fictional, the words and truths that C.S. Lewis brings out in this book about the ways we are tempted every day are eye-opening and a bit terrifying. It also makes clear that there is much more going on all around us in the spiritual realm than what we see or often acknowledge, and for that we need a wake-up call, followed by constant spiritual protection from the LORD.

Read the first five short letters from Screwtape and we will discuss them at our first meeting of the Lutheran Book Club. The Lutheran Book Club will meet from January 23-February 27.
